Christ Church Episcopal, a leading community
of faith and a significant presence in Hudson since 1842, is committed to the
spiritual growth and well-being of the faith community it serves. The
sanctuary, a beautiful worship space designed to enhance congregational
singing, houses a 2 manual Noack pipe organ, and a Boston grand piano. More
intimate worship is held in the chapel. The original clapboard Gothic Revival
structure was built in 1846. The structure was razed and the second chapel was
built on the same site in 1930 and underwent interior refurbishment in the
1960’s.
The Western Reserve- When the original USA
colonies were formed, most of the western borders were left blank since the
settlers didn't know how far west the land went. The Western Reserve was
originally part of the State of Connecticut, and in 1786, Connecticut gave up
its claims to western lands of the United States except for a portion of
northeastern Ohio known as the Connecticut Western Reserve. Later, the
Connecticut Land Company surveyed and settled the region, bringing in rugged
pioneers looking for space to grow and rule their own lives, but the name
Connecticut Western Reserve - or just Western Reserve - continued to be used to
describe the northeastern section of Ohio.
Hudson, Ohio- Modeled on a traditional New
England square, Hudson's town center is a welcoming spot where FLAWR
participants can relax, dine and shop. The historic main street, with charming
brick and clapboard store and shop fronts, blends with a beautifully designed,
new shopping district comprising an additional three blocks. In all,
participants will have convenient access to over 50 specialty shops and stores,
many within walking distance of the festival venues.
